Assistant Accountant

The Assistant Accountant supports the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. In a perfume company, the role also involves monitoring inventory costs, supporting stock reconciliation, and assisting with financial reporting related to perfume manufacturing, distribution, and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support budgeting and cash flow management.
Assist with payroll preparation and statutory deductions where applicable.
Maintain fixed asset and inventory accounting records.
Perform inventory reconciliations with warehouse and retail stock records.
Verify purchase orders, supplier invoices, and payment documentation.
Assist in cost analysis for perfume production, packaging, and distribution.
Prepare tax schedules and support VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.
Assist during internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
Maintain organized financial records and ensure confidentiality.
Support the Finance Manager with special projects and financial analysis.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant accounting regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) or progress toward certification is an added advantage.
1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, retail, or FMCG.
Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
